Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
CyberGuard VPN is published by ALDIAN SRL ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app and our servers process when you use CyberGuard VPN, why we process it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers the iOS app and this website.
For anything in this policy, write to support@sun-vpn.online. We are the controller of the data described here.
2. What we process, in short
| Data | Why | Linked to you? |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription status product, transaction reference, expiry |
To know whether the app may open a tunnel for your device | To the purchase, not to a name |
| Connection data source IP address, session start and stop, bytes transferred, chosen server |
A tunnel cannot be established without it; also used to stop abuse of our servers | To the session, kept briefly |
| Crash and performance data | To find and fix bugs | No, aggregated by Apple |
| Support correspondence | To answer your question | Yes, to the email you write from |
That is the whole list. The sections below say the same thing in more detail.
3. No account, no profile
CyberGuard VPN works without registration. We do not ask for your name, your phone number, your email address or a password in order to use the app. There is no user account, so there is no profile of you on our side to build, to leak or to hand over.
If you write to support, we then have the email address you wrote from. That is a conversation, not an account.
4. Your browsing and your traffic
We do not record what you do online. We do not keep logs of the websites and services you open through the tunnel, we do not keep DNS query logs tied to you, and we do not inspect, read or store the contents of your traffic. We do not build interest profiles and we have nothing of that kind to sell, because we do not create it in the first place.
A VPN is not anonymity. While the tunnel is active, the sites you open see our server address instead of yours, but they can still identify you by the accounts you sign in to, by cookies you already carry, and by what you type. Your mobile operator or network administrator can see that you are connected to a VPN, and how much data you send, even though they cannot see the contents.
5. Connection data
To open a tunnel, our server has to see the address your device connects from. Alongside it, our infrastructure records the time a session starts and ends, the amount of data transferred, and which of our server locations was used. We use this for three things only: to run the connection, to keep capacity in shape, and to detect abuse of our servers such as spam or attacks originating from them.
This data is not joined with your browsing, because we do not have your browsing. It is kept for a short period and then deleted, as described in section 12.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
Subscriptions are sold through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see and never receive your card number, your bank details, your Apple Account password or your billing address.
What we do receive is the outcome of the purchase: which product was bought, an Apple transaction reference, whether the subscription is active, and when the current period ends. We need that to let the app connect. Apple also gives us aggregated, non-identifying sales reports.
Refunds are decided by Apple, not by us. See the Terms for how to request one.
7. Crash and performance data
If your device is set to share analytics with app developers, Apple passes us crash reports and performance measurements in aggregated form. They tell us that a build crashed on a certain iOS version at a certain place in the code. They do not tell us who you are.
You control this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your device. If you turn sharing off, we simply receive less of it.
8. Support correspondence
When you email support, we process your message, your email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about your device or your purchase. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the answer in case you write again. We do not add your address to a mailing list and we do not send marketing to it.
9. What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
- We do not use advertising networks or advertising identifiers in the app. There is no IDFA collection and no ad SDK.
- We do not run third-party analytics or tracking SDKs inside the app.
- We do not use trackers or advertising cookies on this website. The pages you are reading are static and set no cookies at all.
- We do not pass your data to data brokers.
10. What the app does not access
CyberGuard VPN is a VPN client. It does not scan your device, it does not detect viruses or malware, and it does not monitor the health of your battery, your storage or your system. It does not read your photos, your contacts, your messages, your calendar or your files, and it does not request access to them. It does not collect your precise location: the server list in the app is a list of our locations, not of yours.
The only system permission the app needs is permission to install a VPN configuration, which iOS asks for with its own dialog on the first connection. You can remove that configuration at any time in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
11. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract for connection data and subscription status. Without them the service you paid for cannot be delivered.
- Legitimate interests for abuse prevention on our servers and for fixing crashes, balanced against the fact that we keep this data brief and unlinked to your browsing.
- Consent for the diagnostics your device shares, which you give and withdraw in iOS settings.
12. How long we keep data
- Connection data: retained for up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Subscription status: kept while the subscription is active and for as long as we need it for accounting and tax records.
- Crash and performance data: kept in aggregated form as long as it is useful for the affected app versions.
- Support correspondence: kept for up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
13. Where data is processed
Our VPN servers and our infrastructure providers operate in several countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you connect from. Where that involves a transfer out of the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the providers concerned. We choose providers that are contractually bound not to use the data for their own purposes.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to object to a particular use. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
One honest limitation: because the app has no accounts, we usually cannot connect a request to a specific person's use of the service. If you ask us to delete "my data" and all we hold is a short-lived connection record we cannot tie to you, there is nothing for us to look up. Where you have written to support, we can find and delete that correspondence.
If you are in California, note that we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. The rights above apply to you as well.
Write to support@sun-vpn.online to exercise any of this. We answer requests by email.
15. Children
CyberGuard VPN is not directed to children. The app is rated 4+ because it contains no objectionable content, but it is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through support, write to us and we will delete it.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change what we process or why, we update this page and the date at the top. Material changes are also reflected in the app's privacy details on the App Store, so the two stay consistent. Continuing to use the app after a change means the updated policy applies to you.
